WATCH: Kyle Garland Set the Tone in the Hurdles


Kyle Garland looks to be ready for a big junior season.

The talented Germantown Academy athlete, who was second in the country in the penathlon at New Balance Nationals Indoor last winter, opened up his season at this past Saturday's Ursinus High School Open. Garland looked smooth dominating the field in the 55-meter hurdles and winning in a state-best 7.60.

Garland also competed in the shot put and pole vault in a busy opening meet. He took third in the shot (46-6.5) and sixth in the pole vault (11-6).

He should be a serious factor in the state and nation in multiple events this season, and Saturday was a great start. Watch his race above and check out other links from the Ursinus High School Open below:
