Boys' Sprints/Hurdles Preview

The 60 meter hurdles features a lot of talent. PA#2 (after conversions) Kyle Garland of Germantown Academy will be the favorite, but he'll have company. Pennsbury upstart Nasan Robbins, PA#5, has looked strong this season. Conestoga Valley's Aanyah Bermudez, too has proven to be a threat in the event. Chester's James Jackson, Carlisle's Mychael Thomas, Souderton's Stephen Scott, and Wilson's Trevor Thenga will also look to making the finals. Should Garland slip up, a big group will be looking to take advantage. 8.08 by NA's Ayden Owens is the state leader.

A good battle is expected in the 60 meter dash in a pretty open field. Springfield (Delco)'s Philip Shovlin will be one to watch, but Norristown freshman Austin Montgomery keeps keeps getting better and should pose a good threat. Coughlin's Vincent Todd has been strong all season. Susquehanna Township's Marquez Wright and Williamsport's Dante Wright should all be in the mix as well.

Abington's Aaron Sooknanan is the top seed in the 400 meters. He sits at PA#12 and he'll be looking for a quick flat track time on Saturday. Paul Robeson's Richard Lytle will look to challenge him.

Central Dauphin East's Aaron Arp is the one to watch in the 200 meters. He's at PA#13 after a nice run at Ocean Breeze a few weeks ago. Susquehanna Township's Jalik Smith will likely be the best threat for an upset over Arp.
