Girls' 4x200-Meter Relay Preview
It will be a busy day for those on the Cheltenham girls' 4x200. But at the end of a long day of races, the Panthers quartet will look to add yet another PA indoor states gold.
The strength of the Cheltenham relay here comes as no surprise after it was this group that shattered the 4x100 state record outdoors. Now they'll look for more this winter. They'll be shooting for their own state meet record from last year of 1:39.48 and their own overall state record of 1:38.64. They've already run 1:38.93 this year, so both are certainly in play.
Meanwhile, look for Norristown to put down a fast time as well. In December, they ran 1:39.77 at the Marine Corps Classic at The Armory. The runner-ups from indoor states last year haven't matched that time since then, but if they can channel that performance from December, they can be a very dangerous squad.
North Penn sits at PA#3. They've had a very strong season in the event, putting down a best of 1:42.77 at Ocean Breeze a few weeks back. They were third a year ago and they may be looking to improve upon that.

South Fayette, meanwhile, showed its strength in the 4x200 at SPIRE a few weeks ago. That team went 1:44.34, good enough for PA#4. They have a strong stable of sprinters that could surprise some of these eastern 4x2s. Another deep team is Neumann Goretti. The Saints went PA#5 1:45.16 at the PCL Championships on a flat-track. On a banked track, that'll be much quicker and they have the pieces to threaten for the top three for sure.
Susquehanna Township, Harrisburg, Coatesville, Methacton, and Central Bucks East are among the other teams that could find themselves with medals at the end of the day from the 4x200.
