Mount Lebanon Invitational - Meet Recap

BOYS' RECAP

The Greensburg Salem boys got off to a good start, winning the 4x800 meter relay in a strong early season time of 8:06.96. Look out for G-S this season with some good middle distance depth. Greensburg Salem's Dylan Binda won the 800 meters in 2:00.33

South Fayette's Sam Snodgrass is the new PA#1 in the 3200 meters. The junior ran 9:38.17 for the win. Greensburg Salem's Mark Brown was second in 9:50.34.

South Fayette's Sam Mastro took home wins in the discus (170-1) and the shot put (52-8). His win in the discus was by nearly 50 feet over second place. It's a good start for what should be a great season for Mastro. His teammate Thayer Phillips won the javelin with a throw of 159-11.

Saint Joseph's Catholic's Nick DeCarmine swept the hurdles, winning the 110 hurdles in 16.28 and the 300 meter hurdles in 43.40.

GIRLS' RECAP

Oakland Catholic's Lauren Finikiotis showed off some good fitness in the 1600 meters. The senior won in 5:08.97. The runaway winner clocked a PA#4. Finikiotis then came back to win the 800 meters in 2:23.96.

Greensburg Salem's Riley Kwiatkowski went 11:52.89 to win the 3200 meters. Greensburg Salem also won the 4x400 meters at the end of the meet.

Mount Lebanon's Katie Ward ran a strong race in the 100 meters, clocking a time of 12.69 for the win in the finals. Her teammate Molly Mangan won the 200 meters in 26.15. The hosts also won the 4x100 meter relay in 53.48.

South Fayette's Courtney Phoennik won three events on the day, capturing firsts in the high jump (5-0), long jump (17-1), and triple jump (35-9.5). Bethel Park freshman Sarah Gilliam threw 35-11 to win the shot put
