TFCAofGP Spring Invitational - Meet Recap

A number of boys' teams went to Coatesville for some good action on Saturday.

Miles Green of St. Joseph's Prep got his season off to a good start, winning the 300 meter hurdles in a PA#2 time of 39.50. Alex Dimon of Pennridge picked up his second win in as many weeks, winning the 110 meter hurdles in 14.95. Dimon also took second in the 300 meter hurdles.

Bishop Shanahan's Nate Alleyne, the indoor state 400 meter champ, dropped down in distance and won both the 100 (11.29) and the 200 meters (22.37).

The 800 meters saw six boys dip under two minutes. Taking the win was Wissahickon's Christopher Cameron, who dropped a 1:54.70, winning by over two seconds and putting himself at at PA#2. St. Joe's Prep's Stephen McClellan was second in 1:56.94 and CB East's Marc Motter was third in 1:57.28.

The 1600 meters was also fast. Cardinal O'Hara's Ryan James ran a time of 4:21.24 to take the win, while Pennridge sophomore Matt Eissler was second in 4:24.04. CB South's Matthew Scarpill went PA#4 in the 3200 meters, clocking a time of 9:33.04.

Haverford looked very strong in the 4x800 meter relay, running a PA#4 8:04.15. North Penn (8:06.67) was second and Lower Merion took third (8:08.18) in a fast relay. North Penn closed out the meet with a win in the 4x400 meter relay, running a PA#1 of 3:22.91.

Upper Dublin's Brian Kaufmann and Wissahickon's Ahmir Johnson were locked in good battles in the jumps. Kaufmann won the long jump with a leap of 22-0.5, while Johnson took the triple jump, going 46-2.5. That puts Johnson at PA#3.

In the shot put, Glen Mills' D'Amonte Bell won with a throw of 53-4.5, edging out Pennridge's Griffin McMann, who threw 52-9. Methacton's Patrick Maloney won the discus with a throw of 151-6, and LaSalle's Noah Walker took the javelin with a toss of 179-1.
