Pine Grove Area Invitational - Meet Preview
The home team will look for some success at its home invite. Pine Grove Area's Christina DiFalco, who cranked out a PA#3 3200 at Ship last weekend, returns to the event this weekend. She'll also contest the 1600 as she looks for a big meet. PGA's Maddie Frew is the one to beat in the 100 hurdles, 300 hurdles, and the triple jump.
Shamokin Area's Alyssa Lahr will look to grab a pair of wins in the throws. She's favored in the shot put and the discus. In the javelin, Hazleton's Kayla Merkel (currently PA#6) will be the one to watch.
Juniata freshman Garrett Baublitz, who picked up the win in the 1600 at Ship this past weekend, will return to the track on Friday. Baublitz is the favorite in both the 1600 and 800 meters this time around. Upper Dauphin's Brendan Miller is the top seed in the 3200 meters and is also entered in the 1600.
