John H. Shaner Memorial Meet - MEET PREVIEW

GIRLS' PREVIEW

Twin Valley will go for the win in the 4 by 100m relay. Governor Mifflin's girls will be going for a fast time in the 4 by 800m relay.

In the sprints, Schuylkill Valley's Brynna Haupt is the the top seed in the 100m dash, but expect a strong showing from Exeter in this event, with three ladies seeded in the top 5. One of those Exeter ladies is Faith Kehinde, who is also the top seed in the 400m later in the day.

Rebecca Snyder ran a fast time in the 3200m a few weeks ago, ranking her among some of the top runners in the state. Snyder is in the 3200m again, but she will face tough competition from Alison Willingmyre of Wilson. Willingmyre may push Snyder to break the 11 minute barrier this weekend, we will see how the race plays out. Expect to see Wilson's Reagan and Bryn Underwood and Andrea Miller of Governor Mifflin in the top pack as well.

Snyder is also entered in the 1600m and 800m where, in both events, she will be challenged by Sarah Crissman of Fleetwood Area.

Kayla Gillen of Twin Valley will go after a big jump in girls high jump. She has only jumped an inch higher than Tori Stembridge of Wyomissing Area, so we should see some good competition between these two talented ladies.

Going into long jump this weekend, two girls are tied for the top seed; Oley Valley's Madison Wolf and Twin Valley's Jordan Walk.

Paige Stern of Fleetwood Area should have some nice competition from Schuylkill Valley's Olivia Jenkins in the triple jump.

BOYS' PREVIEW

At Wyomissing this weekend, do not miss Alex Cluff of Wilson in the 300m hurdles. He posted a fast time of 38.70 in this event a few weeks ago and currently ranks 2nd in the state.

Also in the sprints, look for the Cooper Lutz of Berks Catholic to post a top time in the 100m dash. Trevor Thenga of Wilson is the top seed in the 110 hurdles. His teammate Angel Martinez is the top seed in the 200m.

A pair of Wilson runners will most likely lead the 3200m race. Evan Royko and Jake Underwood will be joined by Christian McComb and Kollin Miller of Boyertown for a nice race. McComb will come back as the top seed in the 1600m.

Expect a battle for first in high jump between Kwislay Montinard of Conrad Weiser and Juan Mato-Segura of Reading. Both are tied for the top seed going into the weekend.

Joe Jardine of Schuylkill Valley will be one to watch in the vault this weekend. He has not jumped higher than 14 ft in an invitational, maybe it will happen this weekend. Jardine will be joined by teammate Dustin Brown in the long jump as the top seeds. Brown is the top seed in the triple jump going into the meet.

In the shot, look for Jacob Gieringer of Oley Valley to take the win.

Boyertown's Evan Gianetti will compete with Trevor Koenig of Fleetwood Area for the top spot in the javelin.
