Dogwood Track Classic (Charlottesville, VA)
He started his season out-of-state and picked up a pair of PA#1s and now Bishop Shanahan's Josh Hoey will be going down south again, looking to run fast. The junior is one of the top entries in the famed Dogwood Track Classic 800 meters, which produced an epic race last season.
Last year, three boys went sub 1:49 in the 800, with Brandon McGorty winning in 1:48.58, Drew Hunter taking second in 1:48.64, and Alex Lomong placing third in 1:48.67. Now Hoey will take a stab at the 1:50 barrier. He ran 1:51.91 to open his outdoor campaign at March's Pepsi Florida Relays. He was fourth at last week's Penn Relays' invitational mile.
