Henderson Invitational - Boys' Sprints/Hurdles Preview

Dock Mennonite's Austin Kratz will look for a repeat performance of his double win at the Henderson Invitational from last year. The junior is the top seed in both the 100 and 200 meters on Saturday. He sits at PA#7 in both events.

It won't be easy for Kratz, though. Central Dauphin East's Aaron Arp is ranked second in the state in the 200 meters, coming off a monster performance at Shippensburg a few weeks ago, where he ran 21.74 in the event. Look for Arp to go for another quick time. Arp is also one to keep an eye on in the 110 meter hurdles. He'll be matched up with Pennsbury's Nasan Robbins in what should be a quick race.

Muhlenberg's Najee Smith should supply a good challenge in both the 100 and 200 as well. Others in the 100 to watch for include CR North's Michael Welde, LaSalle's Octavious Carter, and William Penn (DE)'s Khalid Dorsey.

The 400 meters will be an event to watch for. Indoor state champion Nate Alleyne is currently PA#10 in the event, but you know the Georgetown-bound senior is looking to improve upon that. With Abington's Aaron Sooknanan and Cameron Mitchell, North's Welde, and Downingtown East's Mitchell Gill in the field, we should see some fast times.

A umber of boys will be chasing sub-40 second times in the 300 meter hurdles. The Haverford School's Sam Lindner, West Chester Henderson's Myles Cooper, and Bishop Shanahan's Keegan Hughes are among the top seeds in the event.
