Henderson Invitational - Boys' Distance Preview

Evan Addison is the top seed in what should be a quick 3200 meters, an event where the Henderson Invite is notorious for producing fast times. The LaSalle harrier will be challenged, however, by a number of strong state-caliber 2 milers. Lower Merion's Matthew D'Aquila, Council Rock North's Ryan Campbell, Pennsbury's Eric Kersten are some of the top names in this field. A pair of talented freshman--Carlos Shultz of Conestoga and Cole Walker of Unionville--are worth watching for.

In the 1600 meters, we can expect some fast times as well. There may not be a clear favorite, but there are plenty of contenders eager for a breakout performance. Roman Catholic's Sean Brown had a strong win at Abingto earlier this season. Council Rock North's Bryan Keller, West Chester Henderson's Spencer Smucker, Hershey's Andrew Sullivan, Pennsbury's Jed Scratchard and Kersten, and Shanahan's Jonah Hoey, the little brother of Josh and Jaxson are among the names names here. Tatnall's Brendan Balthis will come up from Delaware and should be in the mix.

The 800 meters is also wide open. Germantown Friends' Jonathan Plass has had an impressive senior season so far and should look to push pace. Pennsbury's Aidan Sauer, Lower Merion's Theodore Neckowicz, Abington's Josh Coleman, and Shanahan's Logan Yoquinto are part of a long list of potential winners here.
