AAA Girls' 4x100m Relay Preview

Last year, the ladies from Cheltenham put on a show at the PIAA District 1 Championships, breaking the all-time PA state record, which stood since 1996 with a time of 45.78. They knocked on the doorstep of that record at the Penn Relays, running a few 45 second times, including a 45.87. They cruised at districts, so look for the quartet, comprised of Bria Barnes, Ciani Fleming, Alexis Crosby, and Chanel Brissett to go for their own record at Ship.

Stopping Cheltenham won't be easy, but anything can happen, especially at the state meet. Coatesville took second to them at District 1, running a PA#2 47.84 in the prelims. They have some good depth and should be an exciting team to watch. So should North Penn, CB South, and Souderton, who all ran strong at District 1 to get in the state meet.

North Allegheny ran a very strong race at WPIALs to take the crown in 48.05. While they may have been off the radar for much of this season, that win solidifies them as a high podium threat. Norwin was second at WPIALs and they'll have a shot at a good finish as well.

Central was impressive at District 12, taking a win and a meet record. Look for them to contend. Susquehanna Township took home the District 3 title and they should be a strong team this weekend.
