Souderton Twilight Invitational - Meet Preview
We should get some interesting battles at Souderton's unique "Twilight" Invite as the varsity races go off at 5:45 and 6:30 P.M. on Saturday evening, finishing under the lights on the track.
In the girls' race, Souderton's Emily Bonaventure returns to the line after a strong second place finish at PTXC9 to open her season. She went out conservatively there, so we'll see if she employs a more aggressive strategy. She is, however, heavily favored to defend her title on her home course.
The team to watch is Central Bucks West. The Lady Bucks posted a strong runner-up performance at PTXC9 behind freshman Julia Flood. West is a young and deep squad and they'll be shooting for a big win on Saturday. Currently, they sit at PA#8.
Ridley's Jamie Green, CB West's Piper Wilson, and William Tennent's Lynne O'Connor are among the other individuals to watch for.
In the boys' race, this will be our first look of the season at the Central Bucks West boys. The state qualifiers from last year are looking to get back this year. Leading the way will be Michael Samson and Ben Bunch, so we'll see what they have in store for us on Saturday evening.
Souderton, led by Josiah Moyer and Tim Kennel, will be looking for the team upset.
Ridley's Zack Forney is coming off a strong race at PTXC9, which saw him take third in the Blue Race. Downingtown East's Aaron Stoyack and Hatboro-Horsham's Kyle Hontz are others to watch for in this field.
