Kujdych 4th, Others Run Well In NY: Manhattan Invitational Recap

Manhattan Invitational - Girls' Recap

While Katelyn Tuohy was busy demolishing the course record, there was a good race for second place in the Varsity C race at Manhattan. Defending race champion Ariana Gardizy of North Penn ended up just behind second place Justus Holden-Betts of Baldwinsville (NY).

Gardizy was much faster than her winning performance from last year, however. The senior went 15:00 to place third in what turned out to be the highlight race of the day. North Penn's Maeve Gimbert was 21st in 16:08 and Olivia Dyer was 29th in 16:22. The Lady Knights took eighth in the 25 team field.

In the Eastern States race, Saint Joseph's Catholic's Sera Mazza took 27th overall in the loaded field, running a time of 15:36. Her teammate Julia Cusatis was 42nd in 15:56. SJCA's Maggie Urban took 58th in 16:15.

In the Varsity A race, we saw a strong performance from Courtney Alexander of West Chester Henderson, who placed ninth in 16:08. Henderson took third in the field with 126 points.
