Germantown Academy Girls, Germantown Friends Boys Repeat As PAISAA Champs

PAISAA Championships - Boys' Recap

Nick Dahl's graduation left a big opportunity for a number of boys to take the individual PAISAA title. We expected an exciting race, and that's exactly what we got on Saturday evening at Belmont Plateau.

Episcopal Academy's Elias Lindgren took the win, running a time of 16:24. Malvern Prep's Peter Borger took second in 16:30.

George School's Jeffrey Love led Lindgren and Borger as a pack through the mile mark and into the woods. The trio was all together exiting the woods into the final loop. Lindgren had the best closing speed and opened up a gap to take the victory. Love ended up third behind Borger in 16:30. The Haverford School's Will Merhige took fourth in 16:50.

Germantown Friends repeated as the team champions, putting its top four in the top ten and scoring 47 points. Zach Goldberg was fifth in 16:58, followed by Colin Riley, who was sixth in 17:13. The Tigers also took spots eight and nine with Tim Peterson (17:18) and Miles Gomez-Younkin (17:27). Alexander Blaylock rounded out GFS's scoring five with a 19th place finish.

Malvern Prep was second, scoring 60 points. Borger led the way with a second place performance. Freshman Collin Hess ran well to take seventh. Eighth grader Zachary Brill was 11th in 17:35.

Episcopal Academy was third with 113 points and The Hill School was fourth with 121 points.
