Pennsylvania Indoor Week 2 Meets On Tap

TFCAofGP Meet #1 - Meet Preview

***Preview based on entries as of 11am, Friday, 12/15***

DIVISION I

TRACK

We should see a good matchup in the 60 meters. Harry S. Truman's Sayyid Saunders will make his career indoor debut (he's had quite a bit of success outdoors), but he'll be challenged by Norristown sophomore Austin Montgomery and Neshaminy's Savion Hebron.

Another big duel will come in the 60-meter hurdles as Pennsbury's Nasan Robbins and Coatesville's Jared Elters will aim for a PA#1. In the 400 meters, Council Rock North's Michael Welde will look for a quick early season time. Hatboro-Horsham's Matthew Lenahan will look to give him a good run in the event.

In the 3,000 meters, look for a good matchup between Downingtown West's Payton Sewell and North Penn's Noah Demis.

FIELD

Perkiomen Valley's Cole Peterlin jumped 6-5 to win the high jump at Ursinus last week. He returns looking to improve upon that state leading mark. He'll see competition from LaSalle's Jonathon Squadrito and Pennridge's Vincent Polignano.

William Tennent's Randy Showmaker is the one to beat in the pole vault. He'll look to put down a solid early-season jump.

DIVISION II

TRACK

Dylan Vlassenko of Conwell-Egan will look for a strong start to his season. The sophomore will be the one to beat in the 60 meters. Wissahickon's Rasheed Wright is also looking to start his season off well. He's the top seed in the 200 meters. Westtown's Julian Klenner is certainly one to watch this season after running 47.8 for the quarter mile last summer. He'll be favored in the 400 meters.

In the mile, Wissahickon's Ben Hoyer, Great Valley's Brett Zatlin, and Overbrook's Saabir Yasin-Spann are among the top names to watch for. PAISAA XC champ Elias Lindgren of Episcopal Academy will look for a strong indoor season debut in the 3,000 meters.

FIELD

Strath Haven's Dayo Abeeb was just a quarter inch off the state leader in the triple jump last week. This week, he'll aim to jump better than 43-10.25 and grab that PA#1 spot in the event. In the long jump, Wissahickon's Ahmir Johnson looks to be the one to beat. Look for Akeel Blake of Penn Charter in the high jump.

Charles Dever of West Chester Rustin went big at Ursinus last weekend, jumping 15-1 in the pole vault. He'll look to grab another win and attempt to shoot up the state leaderboard.
