TFCAofGP Meet #1 - Meet Recap

Division I Recap

Edner Dorwil was a surprise winner in the 60 meters, running a big PR of 7.10 (PA#1). He was with Swenson last year, but in a George Washington uniform, Dorwil is making a big impact in the early going. He finished ahead of both Norristown's Austin Montgomery (second in 7.14) and Truman's Sayyid Saunders (fourth). Pennsbury's Nasan Robbins won the 60 meter hurdles in a PA#1 8.32.

In the 400 meters, Council Rock North's Michael Welde ran a time of 51.20 (PA#5) for an early season win. He'll be one to watch in the event as the season progresses. Upper Darby's Jarnail Dhillon ran 2:03.30 (PA#6) to win the 800 meters.

Division II Recap

Ahmir Johnson started his season off in a big way. The Wissahickon senior leapt 23-4.75 in the long jump, That puts him at PA#1 by well over a foot and US#2 overall. It's also better than any jump by a PA jumper all of last indoor season. He's just getting started.

In the triple jump, Strath Haven's Dayo Abeeb also went PA#1, jumping 44-3.5 to take the win.

West Chester Rustin's Charles Dever followed up a strong opening meet with another solid effort at Lehigh. Dever jumped 15-3 to move him into a tie with East Penn's Payton Morris for the PA#1 spot.

Westtown's Julian Klenner made his first indoor race a memorable one. The senior, who went 47.8 in the 400 meters outdoors last spring, went 50.71 in his first indoor meet. That's good enough for PA#1. Not bad for a debut. Lower Merion's Romaine Rhoden rolled to the win in the 200 meters, posting a time of 22.80, over a second better than second place.

Malvern Prep's Peter Borger outlasted a strong field to capture the 3000 meter win in 9:12.82, a PA#1. Great Valley's Brett Zatlin went 4:34.55 to hold on for the mile win.

David Bolles of Malvern Prep cleared 6-4 in the high jump to take the win and move to PA#4. It's also a nice PR for Bolles, who jumped 6-2 last outdoor season.

Twin Valley's distance medley relay went 11:06.64, a PA#2, to take the win.
