Looking Back: Week 9 Meet Recaps

The Varsity Classic - Meet Recap

GIRLS' RECAP

The 200 meters was wicked fast with a pair of PA girls leading the way. Talitha Diggs of Saucon Valley ran a PA#2 time of 24.62, her fastest all-conditions time. Coming in second was Jayana Webb of Norristown in 24.93. That PA#4 comes in Webb's open debut on the season. While Thelma Davies' 23.89 is well out in the state lead, the rest of the state situation in the one-lapper just got a whole lot more interesting.

Tia Taylor of Saint Basil, who made a big jump in the 60-meter hurdles on Friday, also climbed up to #2 in the 55 meter hurdles rankings. Taylor went 8.28, a PA#2, for the win. Taylor also long jumped 18-9.25 for the win, which is less than an inch off her season best and PA#2.

In the 55-meter dash, Lower Merion's Aja Davis continued her impressive season, running 7.13, a PA#4, for the victory.

In a competitive pole vault competition,  Danielle Heine of Abington Heights jumped 11-7 to match her own PA#9. Heine took sixth overall.

BOYS' RECAP

In the 800 meters, Great Valley's Brett Zatlin went 1:58.18 for second place and a new PA#7.
