Individuals Breakdown: District 9 Girls

D9-A Girls- Individuals Breakdown

Danielle Perry of Northern Potter made a big statement last fall during her sophomore season. After running away with the District 9 Class A individual title by 56 seconds, Perry ran an incredible race at the state meet, taking fourth in a time of 19:17. Perry is back for her junior season and enters as our Preseason PA#24. She'll be the strong favorite for the D9-A title and then she'll also be a contender for the overall 1A state crown.

Chelsea Hunt of Elk County Catholic will look to challenge her. Hunt was a state medalist as a freshman and took 43rd at states last year after taking second to Perry at districts. Look for Hunt to put together a strong season.

Perry's Northern Potter teammate Amanda Ford was third at districts. She'll be another one to watch as she moves into her senior season. Kane Area's Emily Peterson, Brockway Area's Sylvia Pisarchick, and the Cranberry duo of Chelsea McKissick and Kalynne Ziegler are among the other returners from the top ten in the district. Watch out for the North Clarion pair, Haley Bauer and Rachel Bauer, who finished 11th and 12th, respectively in D9-A last fall, to make some strides this fall.
