Part 8: An eight-part interview with 10-time PA state champ and 4:39 miler Angel Piccirillo

 

Angel Piccirillo closed out her senior season as one of the top distance runners in Pennsylvania, as well as the U.S. Bursting on the scene as a sophomore - Piccirillo would eventually win ten state titles, including two in cross country, three indoor mile titles, the 3000 meter run indoor, three outdoor 1600's and an outdoor 800. She also captured two Penn Relays COA titles, and was runner-up her senior year. She ran in two adidas Grand Prix Dream Miles, finishing 2nd her senior year. In addition to two XC state titles, Piccirillo was a two-time Foot Locker finalist, winning the Northest Regional her senior year before going on to earn all-American status.
 

PennTrackXC publisher Don Rich spent two days in Homer Center in late June, and sat down with both Angel and her coach, Mike Gentile, to talk about one of the best prep track & field/XC careers in PA history.
