Friends' Central's girls' indoor track team not only turned in some very impressive times at the DVTCA Meet of Champions (MOC), but they won races and broke meet and FCS records too. The team travelled to Lehigh University on Friday, February 20th to take part in the prestigious meet. FCS dominated the middle distance races with 3 gold medals. The 4x800 ( Emily Burd, Nadia Taranta, Hannah Szapary, Gabrielle Wilkinson ) took 1st place in a new school record time of 9:41.72. Gabby Wilkinson also won and set a new school record in the 800m (2:15.40). FCS' 3rd gold medal came from Emily Burd in the 1mile in 5:11.79, over 3 seconds faster than second place. At the Track Coaches Assn meet at Lehigh U on January 17, FCS seniors Patrick DeSabato and Ivo Milic-Strklaj again took first place in both the mile and the 3000 races. Earlier in the season DeSabato won the mile; and later in the meet, Milic-Strkalj took the 3000 meter victory. This time, the senior co-captains swapped events.
