For the first time in the history of the Foot Locker Championships, Pennsylvania stands atop of the Foot Locker mountain, crowning a PA runner the champion of the United States!
State champion and Northeast Regional champion Tessa Barrett of Abington Heights is your 2013 Foot Locker Finals National Champion! The senior has capped off a phenomenal season with the highest honor, running 17:15.4 to defeat fellow Northeast competitor Hannah DeBalsi of Connecticut by 10 seconds. Brianna Schwartz of Shaler made it two All Americans for PA, finishing 6th in 17:42.1, the 4th best finisher from the Northeast region. Regan Rome of Dallas rounded out the PA competitors with a 28th place finish in 18:21.2, making it two top 30 finishes at the Foot Locker Finals for the senior. The Northeast girls won the team title with 26 points.
Ross Wilson of Council Rock North finished 26th in the boys race with a time of 15:50. The Northeast boys were 2nd in the team competition with 56 points.
Class A girls state champion Marianne Abdallah of Vincentian Academy won the 13-14 girls age group national championship down in San Antonio, Texas, running 14:15 for 4k to win the race by just under 20 seconds! She was 2nd in 2012.
