Courtney Nasser of Haverford won the 3000 meter run with a PA#5 time of 10:38.30. North Penn won the 4x800 meter relay in a PA#5 9:42.33 to edge out Downingtown East (9:42.69). Alex Heuer of Boyertown earned another victory in the triple jump with a mark of 35-7. Erin Sample of Nazareth Academy threw 38-3 to win the shot put.

The varsity edition of the New Balance Games started off with a bang for PA! Elizabeth Chikotas of Saucon Valley took home the girls 2 mile run with a time of 11:01.12.
Emily Stauffer of Cocalico would extend her PA#1 lead and move to US#6 with her win at 45-4. Perkiomen Valley's Macey Tanseco improved her PA#6 to 40-05.75. Claudine Andre of Upper Darby ran 8.55 in the prelims of the 55 meter hurdles to tie for PA#6 in the event. She would finish 8th in the finals. Andre also added a 3rd place finish in the long jump with a PA#2 mark of 18-5.75. Her teammate Ashley Rankin finished 7th in the 55 meter dash with a PA#7 time of 7.36. Alex Patrick of Cardinal O’Hara finished 6th in the long jump with a mark of 17-3. Overbrook finished 5th in the 4x200 meter relay finals with a PA#2 time of 1:43.45. In the 4x400 meter relay, Overbrook (PA#1 3:59.08) and Neumann Goretti (PA#2 3:59.28) earned a PA sweep and only allowed Strath Haven to enjoy their PA#1 ranking for a few hours. Hanna Brosky of Emmaus finished 9th in the invitational 300 meter dash in 40.96, and she finished 8th in the 600 meter run in 1:38.10. Cardinal O’Hara finished 3rd in the distance medley relay with a state leading and US#7 time of 12:15.91! Garnet Valley finished 7th with a time of 12:41.68. Central Bucks South finished 3rd in the 4x800 meter relay with a state leading and US#7 time of 9:28.05. Emily Miller of Wilson (3) finished 2nd in the high jump with a clearance of 5-3. Central Bucks West finished 2nd in the spring medley relay in 4:10.36.
For the boys, Cheltenham stole the show once again in the 4x200 meter relay. The US#2 squad gained ground on national leading Union Catholic (NJ), winning the 4x200 finals in a US#2 1:28.87! Delaware Valley Charter finished 2nd in the finals with a US#3 time of 1:29.19! Neumann Goretti made it three PA teams in the top five, running 1:31.73 in the finals (PA#4 1:31.33 prelims). In the 4x400 meter relay, Cheltenham made it two relay gold medals on the day with a US#2 time of 3:21.22! Christian Brissett of Cheltenham added a 2nd gold medal to his collection, running a state leading 6.44 to win the 55 meter dash. Teammate Saahir Bethea finished 2nd in the long jump with a mark of 22-10, just an inch and a half short of his state leading mark of 22-11.50. Bethea’s teammate Cordel Richardson finished 5th in the 55 meter hurdles with a time of 7.84. When it was said and done, Cheltenham were crowned team champions of the meet!
Jeff Wiseman of Council Rock South ran 1:21.07 to finish 3rd in the 600 meter run, good for US#7. Cecil Simpson of Upper Darby was 5th in the long jump with a mark of 21-7. Ryan Wilkes of Valley View finished 3rd in the pole vault with a state leading mark of 14-9. Jim Belfatto of Cardinal O’Hara finished 9th in the invitational mile with a PA#5 time of 4:25.42. Radnor finished 6th in the invitational distance medley relay with a PA#2 time of 10:39.72. Quakertown finished 8th with a PA#6 10:46.10. Eric Von Hertsenberg of Radnor finished 4th in the shot put with a mark of 50-2.25.Alex McCord of Warwick (6-8) and Chris Stone of Springfield Montco (6-7) finished 1-2 in the high jump. Stone also cleared 14-3 to finish 6th in the pole vault. Jhaloni Johnson of Springfield (Montco) finished 7th in the invitational 300 meter dash in 35.47. Cardinal O’Hara boys took home the gold medal in the 4x800 meter relay with a PA#2 and US#6 time of 7:58.76. Penncrest finished 3rd with a PA#3 8:03.05. In the 4x400 meter relay, Delaware Valley Charter (4th in 3:28.04) and Upper Darby (5th in 3:28.57) made it 3 PA teams in the top five, joining winners Cheltenham. Penn State University
The annual Kevin Dare Invitational lived up to all the pre meet hype and then some. Pennsylvania schools took advantage of this pre state meet to earn many state qualifiers and national level performances. Joey Logue of Pennridge became the new state leader in the 800 meter run with a personal best and US#2 performance of 1:53.67. Just behind him was PA#2 and US#3 Will Cather of State College in 1:54.05!
60 meter dash state leader Druex Stamford of Altoona ran 6.98 to finish 2nd in the event. Charles Snorweah of Pennsbury now tops the state in two events, earning the top spot in the 200 meter dash with a 3rd place finish of 22.08. Mason Post of State College finished 5th in the 400 meter dash with a PA#7 time of 51.03. Ryan Grace of North Penn ran 4:25.57 to win the mile run over Jeff Groh of Lower Dauphin (4:26.75). Christian Kardish of Holy Ghost Prep ran a PA#2 8:47.81 to win the 3000 meter run over PA#4 Patrick Reilly of Dallastown. Stephen Fiorentino of Methacton ran a T-PA#4 8.40 to win the 60 meter hurdles.
In the relays, Pennsbury ran a PA#3 and US#10 1:30.08 to win the 4x200 meter relay over North Penn’s PA#4 1:31.18. Pennsbury also improved on its state leading mark in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:23.82 to finish 2nd in front of Pennridge’s PA#2 3:23.90. In the 4x800 meter relay, State College became the first sub 8 minute team in PA, running a state leading and US#3 time of 7:57.49 ahead of PA#4 North Penn (8:07.39). In the field events, Tyree Ballinger of JP McCaskey equaled his state leading mark in the high jump with a clearance of 6-8, and he finished 2nd in the long jump with a mark of 21-11. Brandon Stanback of Bishop McDevitt (3) won the triple jump with a PA#4 mark of 45 feet even. For the girls, Cheltenham bossed the sprint events with some big time performances. First off, they finished 1-2 in the 60 meter dash with Katelyn Jackson (PA#1 and T-US#10 7.57) and Chanel Brissett (PA#2 7.60). In the 200 meter dash, they finished 1-4 with Jackson (PA#1 and US#3 24.43) and Brissett (PA#3 25.25) leading the way once again. Ciara Leonard of Cheltenham won the 60 meter hurdles in a state leading and US#5 time of 8.57. To cap off their day, their 4x200 meter relay reclaimed their US#2 spot with a winning performance of 1:41.56!
Other action on the track included Brooklynn Broadwater of Springside Chestnut Hill earning a share of the state lead in the 400 meter dash with her winning time of 57.67. In the 800, Marissa Sheva of Pennridge continued her hot streak by earning a victory in a personal best and state leading 2:15.45 to beat PA#2 Terri Turner of Springside Chestnut Hill (2:16.06). Allie Wilson of Strath Haven improved on her PA#6 mark in the mile with a lifetime best 5:08.17. Mady Clahane of Cumberland Valley closed the gap on state leader Regan Rome in the 3000 meter run with a PA#2 and US#10 time of 10:05.83. Hannah Molloy of Pennsbury finished 2nd in a PA#3 10:22.69. Strath Haven regained the state lead the in the 4x400 meter relay with a winning time of 3:59.85. Pennsbury ran 9:47.10 to edge out State College by .03 seconds to win the 4x800 meter relay. In the field events, Grace Becker of Central Bucks East beat out Germantown Academy’s Megan McCloskey on misses with both clearing 5-4. Hannah Mulhern of Altoona cleared 11-6 to win the pole vault. Aghina Marshall of Methacton finished tied for 3rd in the long jump with a mark of 17-3.75. Uchechi Onuoha of Pennsbury finished 2nd in the triple jump with a new state leading mark of 37-5.50. In division 1, Kyle Francis of Bensalem led wire to wire to win the 800 meter run in 1:59.86 ahead of Eli Mercado of Boyertown (2:00.30). In division 2, Jaxson Hoey of Malvern Prep ran 9:08.15 to win the 3000 meter run. Teammate Andy Pancoast cleared 6-3 to win the high jump. Courtney McQuaide of Greensburg Salem joined Kaitlyn Toman of Salisbury at the top of the pole vault rankings with a victory of 12 feet even. Bridget Guy (11-6) and O’Lear Ravenne (11 feet even) finished 2nd and 3rd for Hempfield (7).
Maddie Holmberg of Hempfield won the long jump with a mark of 17-8 ahead of teammate Bridget Guy (17-2.50). Emily Campbell of Slippery Rock Area threw 41-2.25 to win the shot put ahead of Cailen Blaire of Hempfield (7) (40-8.25). Blaire also finished 2nd in the weight throw with a mark of 43-8. Emily Lelis of Springdale improved on her state lead in the 60 meter hurdles, winning with a time of 8.79 ahead of new PA#2 Maddie Holmberg (8.81). Holmberg came right back and won the 60 meter dash with a T-PA#8 7.85. Hempfield won the 4x200 meter relay with a time of 1:46.78. Gabrielle Holmberg of Hempfield (7) won the 400 meter dash in 1:00.15 ahead of teammate Rachel Reese (1:01.57). Gabrielle also finished 2nd in the 200 meter dash in 26.87. Grace Trucilla of Villa Maria Academy (10) won the 800 meter run in a PA#2 time of 2:17.60. Gina Cuneo of Hempfield (7) cleared 5-1 to win the high jump. For the boys, Nick Anderson of Kane Area finished 3rd in the pole vault with a PA#2 clearance of 14-7. Delorian Day of Hempfield (7) won the high jump (6-2), the triple jump (41-11.50) and finished 2nd in the long jump (21-7.50). Luke Lewis of Hickory broke the 61 foot mark for the 2nd time this season, throwing 61-1.25 to win the shot put over PA#2 Max Adams of Hempfield (7) (58-9.50).
Mike Kolor of Seneca Valley ran 4:35.14 to win the 1600 meter run. Khalid Young of Penn Hills ran 51.92 to finish 2nd in the 400 meter dash. Teammate Dylin Wilhoite ran 1:59.87 to win the 800 meter run. Ben Kinnamon of Kiski Area ran 23.53 to finish 4th in the 200 meter dash. Continuing her year of dominance in cross country, Tessa Barrett returned to the scene of her 2013 breakthrough 3k, and bettered her state record in the event to 9:45.77, which is currently US#3. Her record was set at Penn State in the PTFCA State Championships in 9:47.73. The big difference between the two is that the latter was on a banked track with competition, while today's mark was solo on a FLAT track.
