Greenville junior Jed Christiansen beat 2001Foot Locker Finalist Andy Weilacher's Rocky Grove course record by 19 seconds, going 15:54. But Weilacher's old team looked strong behind the senior leadership of Grant Allen, scoring just 65 points to beat Unior City by 16 with a 2:05 spread. Christiansen said he didn't set out to get the record, but an opening 5:00 on the very tough openingmile, with only three guys within striking distance, gave him the push to repeatedly surge in the 2nd mile.

Petri negotiates the last 2000 meters of the 600 meter downhill finish.

Soph Lindsay Petri of General McLane was a 30-second winner (19:50) over West Allegheny senior Julie Snyder, but Synder's team took the girls' team title by seven over General McLane. And for those who didn't know that Jed Christiansen is not last runner in the family, younger brother Jake, a 9th grader, finished 13 in the Varsity Seeded Race in 17:42. In two earlier races, 7th grade brother Job won the 2.0 Junior High Race in just over 11:00; and little sister Jacy took all the 5th and 6th grade boys in the combined 1.6 Mile Race in 9:55.

Jed crosses the line with a new course record of 15:54, the first under 16:00.

Eisenhower with their first place award, is looking strong again this season.
