Schwartz, Clahane, and Sheva make MileSplit's Northeast Cream of the Crop list!

Monthly, MileSplit will be releasing the Cream of the Crop list, a list that ranks the top 15 runners in each Foot Locker region (Northeast, Sout, Midwest, West).

Today, the first list was published, and PA holds 3 of the 15 spots!

Brianna Schwartz of Shaler Area was ranked #2 on the list after her excellent 2013-14 campaign. An Foot Locker All American certificate, an indoor state record in the mile and two state championships in track last year have set her up for great expectations in 2014. Schwartz hasn't competed yet during the cross country season, but stay tuned to PennTrackXC to find out when she will!

Mady Clahane of Cumberland Valley made the list at #8 in the first release! The junion will be making her debut tomorrow at the PTXC 6 meet at Kutztown University, where she will be looking to earn her first win after two top five finishes in her first two tries. Clahane broke 4:50 in the mile last season and medaled in the 3200 at outdoor states.

One of her challengers tomorrow, Marissa Sheva of Pennridge, is the 3rd and final PA representative on the list. The senior made the list at #11 after finishing last season with a 3200 meter state gold medal and after starting this season with a comfortable victory at the John Sharp Invitational last Friday!

Congratulations to Brianna, Mady, and Marissa for making this list. A new list will be released next month. In the meantime, you can check out the current rankings HERE.
