For this week, the girls track athlete of the week award will be shared for the first time this season by two runners who set US#1 marks.
Ciara Leonard of Chelteham is one of the recipients. The senior took the US#1 spot in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.47, which is just .07 seconds off of her state record she set last March. She was also a member of the state leading and US#3 1:39.46 4x200 meter relay team that came with a half second of breaking that state record.
The other recipient goes to US#1 3000 meter runner Mady Clahane of Cumberland Valley. After running alongside Marissa Sheva of Pennridge for 12 laps, Clahane made a big move in the final three laps to break the 10 minute mark with a time of 9:59.40. She is the only person in the country to break 10 minutes for 3000 meters this season!

Compete in 3 meets and clear the same height all three times is an incredible feat, and Erika Voyzey of Tyrone Area made it 3 for 3 on Saturday at the Kevin Dare Invite. She made 5-8 look easy and had good attempts at 5-10. Her performance solidified her title as the favorite to become state champion come March 1.

For the 2nd time in 3 weeks, John Lewis of Cheltenham wins the athlete of the week award on the track. The senior anchored his sprint medley relay team to a US#1 time of 3:26.11 with a 1:51 FAT split. The relay time is the fastest in our database, while the 800 split is a lifetime best indoors for Lewis. He also anchored the PA#1 and US#3 1:28.61 4x200 meter relay!

Jordan Geist of Knoch did it again! As a 10th grader, Geist is dominating the competition, and on Saturday, he added 17 inches to his personal best he set only two weeks ago. Geist threw 63-2.50 to win the shot put and improve on his state lead and PA#2 all time performance for the indoor shot put. How far can he get before the season ends?
