For the second week in a row, we have given out co-athlete of the week awards on the track for the girls.
Sarah Walker of Germantown Friends is the first recipient after her late heroics in the 600 meter run in front of many college teams at Saturday's Armory Invitational (see video below). In the last 100 meters, she went from 4th to the winners circle with a US#1 time of 1:32.30. The junior has now recorded two US#1 performances in the past 3 weeks!
The other award winner is Madeleine Davison of North Allegheny. The junior made her 2015 track season debut in the 3000 meter run and cruised to victory and snagged the US#1 spot from Cumberland Valley's Mady Clahane with her winning time of 9:54.14. PA now has the only two sub 10 minute 3000 meter runners in the country entering February!

The triple jump state champion took her place back on top of the state in the triple jump. Ochechi Onuoha of Pennsbury claimed the state lead in the triple jump for the first time this season with a winning jump of 38-4.50. The mark equals her 2014 indoor best that set her up to become the state champion.

On one of the biggest stages of the indoor season, Alek Sauer of Pennsbury showed everyone what he is capable of in the 800. Sauer anchored his 4x800 meter relay team to a US#5 performance in which the top five in the race finished in the top five in the country. Sauer was a big part of that with his anchor FAT split of 1:52.61, the 2nd fastest 800 meter time recorded in the state this season.
