10/15 Washington County Coaches Meet
RESULTS POSTED
By Mike MuellerJulian Rankin (16:18) and Kyle Gibson (16:19) swept the top two spots as Canon-McMillan cruised to the Washington County Coaches team title. C-M placed all five runners in the top 9 and finished with 22 points. The Girls' race also came down to the wire. Trinity's Chelsea Sumney (19:40) out-kicked Peters Township's Kayla Keddal (19:41) to win the overall race. Trinity also took team honors. Trinity slotted all five of their runners in the top 15 to secure the 28-53 win over Peters Township.
10/16 AACA Championships

Nazareth Academy's Meghan Lutz tore up Tyler State Park and cruised to the AACA title. Lutz covered the course in 18:08, beating the field by 47 seconds. St. Basil collected 50 points won the team title over Villa Maria Academy and Villa Joseph Marie. Liz Barrett was SBA's top finisher. Barrett placed third overall with a time of 18:58.
10/16 Lehigh Valley Conference

It appears there's no hangover for the Emmaus Girls. Just three days after their race in Manhattan they cruised to a Lehigh Valley Conference title. Emmaus took five of the first eight spots to seal the deal over Parkland, 24-64. Lindsey Graybill was second with a time of 18:43--- that was four seconds faster than teammate Amanda Graybill who finished third. Liberty's Jess Gygan was the overall winner at 18:18. Easton's number one runner, Chanelle Price missed the race because of a college visit. She's expected to compete next week at districts.
Trevor Vanaceren led Liberty to a team title. Vanackeren beat the field by more than 21 seconds, breaking the tape at 15:47. Parklands Matt Gillette was second with a time of 16:08.6. Liberty took three of the first four spots to secure a 38-56 win over Parkland.

Hanover Area junior Alyssa Namey ran a 19:25.93 to win the Ed Narkiewicz All-League Meet over Crestwood's Kristin Schafer (19:31:81) at Kirby Park in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Schafer led Crestwood to the AAA title, while Dallas took home the honors in AA.
Alec Richardson broke the tape in 16:16.24 to win the boys race as Holy Redeemer took home the AA team title. Crestwood's Bobby Micikas (16:21) outkicked teammate Anthony Rizzo (16:22) and Tunkhannock's Reece Ayers (16:23) to finish runner up. Dallas placed four runners in the top ten to edge Crestwood 57-59 to win the AAA team title.

Fort Cherry's Andrew Lucarini took the Freedom Invitational in a time of 17:18 over Riverview's Mike Springer (17:28). Freedom Area's Ryan Barlow posted a 17:33 on his way to a third place finish. Riverview won the team title over Southmoreland, 71-90.
Riverview's Allison Garda led her team to a 40-90 win over Blackhawk. Garda broke the tape in 20:52---three second better than Becky Penneau (20:55) of BH. Riverview placed all five runners in the top twenty to secure the win.
10/17 Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference

Central Cambria's Carly Seymour cruised to another Laurel Highlands Conference title in Johnstown Wednesday. Seymour covered the 3.0 mile course at UPJ in 17:07 to help the Lady Devils to a 24-82 team title over Bishop McCort. CC placed all five runners in the top ten. Carly's sisters Kelsey (19:07) and Kendall (19:27) finished fourth and sixth. Teammate Annie Cekada was sandwiched in between at 19:18. Forest Hills Sarah Strayer was second with a time of 18:40.
Central Cambria also took the boys' team title with a 50-66 win over Somerset. Somerset's Craig Eddy won the race with a time of 16:11. Bishop McCort's Mike Garver (16:22) and Andy Luksik (16:51) finished second and third respectively. CC's Corey Sheehan led the Red Devils with a 17:19, fifth place finish.

Bishop McDevitt's Joe Beveridge (16:39) beat Central Dauphin's Evan DeArmitt (16:41) by two seconds to win the Mid Penn Conference Champs. Hershey's Eric Reichert was thrid with a time of 16:53. Cumberland Valley placed all five runners in the top 25 to win the meet 65-98 over Red Lion. Chris Contino was CV's top runner with a 17:00, fifth place finish.
Shippensburg's Neely Spence dominated the field by almost a minute to win the Mid-Penn crown. Spence broke the tape in 18:37--- 52 seconds better than Boiling Spring's Kara Millhouse (19:29). Northern nipped Cumberland Valley, 73-78 to win the overall team title. Rachel Wong (19:42) was Northern's top runner with a fourth place finish.

The Stroudsburg Girls and Boys swept the Mountain Valley Conference titles Wednesday at Lehigh University. Stroudsburg scored 32 points, placing all five runners in the top ten. They were led by Megan Pickarski (20:30) and Alee Gormley (20:36) who finished third and fourth overall. Pleasant Valley's Samantha Klingel cruised to the individual title. Klingel covered the 3.1 mile course in 19:36.7, beating the field by more than 30 seconds.
Stoudsburg edged East Stroudsburg South, 40-55 in the boys race. ESS's Amr Aldeen beat the field by more than minute with a time of 16:37.9 to win the MVC title. Stroudsburg's Kevin Melnick finished second at 17:44. Teammate Keifer Krell was third with a time of 18:08.

La Salle smoked the competition at the PCL Northern Division Championships in Philadelphia. Dan Lowry and Pat Deonnelly finished first and second as the La Salle racked up 21 points in their win over Father Judge (51 pts). Lowry broke the tape in 16:30, Donnelly at 16:51. La Salle had five runners in the top seven.
Bishop McDevitt's Katie Filemyr beat St. Hubert's Katherine Klinges to win the PCL North Championship. Filemyr posted a 20:20 winning time--- 42 secons better than Klinges at 21:02. Archbishop Wood's Kiersten Brown was third with a time of 21:06. The Lady Crusaders also took home the team title with a 37-45 win over St. Hubert.

St. Joseph's Prep took three of the first four spots to win the PCL Southern Championships, 28-43 over O'Hara. SJP's John Pickhaver led the charge with a 16:21 first place finish. O'Hara's Mike De Stefano was second with a time of 16:38. SJP's John Castillo (16:45) and Mark Springel (16:50) finished third and fourth respectively.
The O'Hara girls were just as dominant. They defeated Archbishop Carroll, 25-51 to win the PCL Southern Division Championship. AC's Caitlin Storbeck won the race with ease at 19:37. O'Hara's Caroline Grant (20:01) and Nicole Del Grosso (20:03) finished second and third. O'Hara placed all five runners in the top ten to help secure the win.

The Boyertown and Perkiomen Valley Boys went down to the wire in the Pioneer Athletic Conference Meet at Daniel Boone Homestead. The race came down to the team's sixth runners in a sprint to the finish. Boyertown's Justin Kelly (18:16.1) edged PV's Stephen Carney (18:16.7) at the line to finish 27th and secure the tie breaker in a 52-52 deadlock. Boyertown's Mark Dennin cruised to the individual crown in a time of 15:17.6. PV's Jimmy Tarsnane was second at 15:53.8.
Spring-Ford's Heather Giovagnoli cruised to the girl's title in a time of 18:50.8---the second best performance all-time at the Daniel Boone Homestead. Tamaqua's Alex Zubey cruised to the Schuylkill League Championship in a time of 16:08. Panther Valley's Zack Lebo finished six seconds back with a 16:14. Tamaqua also cruised to the team title, 42-63 over Blue Mountain.
Blue Mountain won the girls SLC over Tamaqua, 67-68. Tamaqua's Schulyer Schmidt outkicked Panther Valley's Sindle Griffiths to win the race. Schmidt posted a winning time of 19:56--- one second better than Griffiths. Alexa Yoder ran to a 20:31 fifth place finish and was Blue Mountain's top runner.

Conrad Weiser defeated Exeter Township, 93-97 at the Berks County Championships. Tulpehcoken sophomore, Tyler Riegel won the race in 16:44. CW's Zach Barker was second with a time of 16:58. Twin Valley's Kerry Werner was third at 17:07.
Tulpehocken sophomore, Heather Weiss (19:32) won the girls race by 34 seconds over Molly Mitchell of Gov. Mifflin (20:06). Muhlenberg's Lauren O'Brien was third at 20:11. Gov. Mifflin defeated Tulpehocken, 78-90 in the the team standings.

Holy Ghost Prep took the top 3 places in the boys varsity race to take the team championship with an impressive score of 20 points. Phil-Mont Christian was 2nd with 64 points. In the individual race Michael Pierce ran 15:36 to win the meet and set a 3.0 mile course record. He was well under the old record of 16:01 set by Nate Twer, Jenkintown, 2006. Holy Ghost Prep's Eric Arnold, 2nd in 15:50, and Matt Chylak, 3rd in 15:58, were also under the old record. In the girls varsity race Christopher Dock dominated the show, putting 5 runners in the 2-6 slots to score 20 points. Second place went to Lower Moreland, 79 points. Cecelia Forshee, Phil-Mont Christian, won the individual title with a time of 18:40. Beth Lambright, Christopher Dock, was 2nd in 18:53.

Henderson's Chris Aldrich won the Ches-Mont Championships in impressive fashion, beating the field by 20 seconds in a time of 15:41. Bishop Shanahan's Chris Bodary (16:01) out-kicked John Lacolla (16:03) of West Chester East to finish second. Andrew Mahoney led Coatesville to the team title with a fourth place, 16:13 finish as they went on to beat Henderson, 57-71.Henderson's Carly Hamond posted a winning a time of 18:43 to win the C-M Championship over Marie Thompson of Downingtown East (18:53). Unionville's Christine Smith was third at 19:04. Downingtown East placed three runners in the top ten to win the team title, 39-48 over Unionville.

Southern Leigh's Zach Rivenbark won the Colonial League Champs in a time of 17:28 over Palisades' Franck Nick (17:43). Southern finished second in the team standings to Notre Dame, 66-104. Nicholas Piazza was ND's top runner. Piazza finished third overall with a time of 17:50.
Saucon Valley defeated Northwestern Lehigh, 53-74 to win the League title in the Girls' race. SV was led by Sara Kish (21:29) and Ashley Payung's (21:30) fifth and sixth place finish. Places 4-9 were all within three seconds of each other. Southern Leigh's Stephanie Bearish cruised to the individual title with a winning time of 20:03, that was 57 seconds faster than Lindsay Kerr of Northwestern Lehigh at 21:00.

Conestoga VAlley's Vince McNally crushed the competition at the Lebanon-Lancaster League Meet. McNally broke the tape in 15:02.2 and won the race by 1:18 over Hempfield's Kevin Hull (16:20.2) Cocalico's John Wallace was third with a time of 16:37. Cedar Crest won the team title with 46 points. Jared Feinstein was CC's top runner with a 16:41, 5th place finish.
Garden Spot's Emily Martin took home the league title in a time of 18:37. J.P. McCaskey's Meghan Ecker was second at 18:45. Manheim Township won the team title with 80 points. Ruthie Rosenberger was MT's top runner with a 19:39, 8th place finish.

Baldwin Senior David Adley beat Gateway's Daniel Krystek to with the Tri-State Coaches Association title at Slippery Rock University. Adley had a winning time of 16:16, bettering Krystek by 11 seconds at 16:27. Julian Rankin of Canon-McMillan was third with a time of 16:32. North Alleghany beat North Hills, 79-101 to win the team title. Matt Jacobs led the charge with a 16:36, fourth place finish. North Allegheny junior Patrick Morgan, coming back from an injury, won the JV race in 17:35 to lead a sweep of the race. NA racked up 15 points in their victory over second place Greater Latrobe.
Junior Natalie Bower of Greater Latrobe won the girls' race by 32 seconds, covering the course in 18:49. Hampton's Elaina Balouris was second with a time of 19:21. Greater Latrobe finished second in the team standings to North Allegheny, 110-119. NA's Jackie Sokulski was sixth with a time of 19:51.

York Catholic freshman Kady Schrann hung onto front-runners Emily Ballantyne of Dallastown and Jordan Jenkins of New Oxford, before passing the two over the final mile of the race to win in 19:01. Ballantyne held on for 2nd in 19:09, with Jenkins another 20 seconds back. Red Lion's Greg Kareis captured the boys' title in 16:02. There is no team scoring in the meet.

Upper Dublin took three of the first four spots to win the SOL American Conference Championships over Wissahickon, 24-72. Wissahickon's Nick Crits won the race in a time of 15:46. UD's Mike Palmisano ran to a 15:52, second place finish. Teammates Matthew Lorenzo (16:15) and Patrick McLaughlin (16:18) finished third and fourth respectively.Upper Dublin, also victorious in the girls' race as they beat Plymouth Whitemarsh, 35-47. Council Rock North edged Hatboro-Horsham, 57-58 to win the SOL Continental League Championships. CRN's Doug Rheiner (17:06) secured the win by finishing three seconds ahead of H-H's fifth runner Dan Golden (17:09) for a 19th place finish. CB East's Josh Izewski won the overall race with a time of 15:34. CB West's Tyler Jones was second at 15:40. CB-W's Pierre Lecorre ran to a 16:05, third place finish.Council Rock North had an easier time with Hatboro-Horsham in the girls' race as they won, 35-76. Juliann Fricke led the way for CRN with a 19:11, second place finish. CB East's Kate Ross was the overall winner with a time of 18:57. H-H sophomore, Kaylee Irwin was third at 19:19.

North Penn cruised to the SOL National League Championship with a dominating performance on Friday. N-P grabbed four of the first six spots to win, 19-69 over Pennridge. The 1-5 spread was 53 seconds, but perhaps more impressively, their 1-7 spread was only 59 seconds. ZackMontijo won the race with a time of 15:40. Teammates Brad Miles (15:51) and Zach Hoagland (15:55) were right behind him to finish second and third respectively.North Penn beat CB South, 44-61 to win the Girls' SOL National League Championship.
Laruen Bond (19:29) and freshman Heather Selheimer (19:35) led the charge for North Penn finishing third and fourth. Freshman teammate Carly Yost ran to a 20:14, 9th place finish. Pennridge's Sarah Simonetti won the race with a time of 18:49. Neshaminy sophomore, Laura Histand was second at 19:21.

In the boys varsity race Matt Keehn, Haverford, won in a time of 16:08. Nick Bonaventure, Penncrest, took 2nd in a time of 16:17. Bobby Furman, Marple Newtown, was 3rd in 16:19. Penncrest won the team title handily with 38 points, putting 5 runners in the top-11. Lower Merion was 2nd with 73 points, and Haverford was 3rd with 78 points. In the girls varsity race Melissa Frick, Strath Haven, won with a time of 18:58. Kelyn Freedman, Radnor, was 2nd in 19:08, and Hannah Meyer, Strath Haven, was 3rd in 19:43. Strath Haven won the meet easily with 28 points, and putting 5 runners in the top-11. Haverford High was 2nd with 73 points, and Radnor finished 3rd with 92 points.

West Middlesex took the first 3 spots to score 28 points and secure the team victory. Matt Lawhead won in 16:37.9, Adam Shrawder was 2nd in 16:52.2, and Mike Ryan was 3rd in 17:16.3. Greenville took 2nd in the team race with 83 points. In the girls race a similar scenario unfolded as West Middlesex scored 18 points off of a 1-3 finish. All 5 scoring runners were in the top-7. Lauren Shingledecker won in 20:12.5, Karen Willey was 2nd in 20:35.1, and Kelli Weatherby was 3rd in 20:44.8. Sharon took 2nd in the team race with 78 points.

In the boys race Adrew Geist, Meadville, won by a 50 seconds in a time of 16:38. Richard Peterson, Meadville, took second in 17:28. Slippery Rock won the team title with 49 points, narrowly defeating Grove City, 51 points. In the girls race Elesia Wilson, Meadville, won with a time of 21:09, while Megan DeGraaf, Grove City, took second in 21:26. The order was reversed in the team scoring, as Grove City won with 38 points over Meadville, 47 points.

Mark Carlucci, Mercyhurst Prep, won the boys varsity race with a time of 16:33. Second place went to Nick Marini, Cathedral Prep, who ran a time of 16:45. Cathedral Prep won the meet with 36 points to beat McDowell, 43 points. Katie Spade, Warren, won the girls varsity race with a time of 19:47. Suzanna Kearns, Mercyhurst Prep, was 2nd in 20:26. McDowell won the team title over Villa Maria, 42-66.
Haverford's Matt Keehn took control after 2 mile at Central Leagues, but Penncrest, led by the 2nd place of Nick Bonaventure, easily won the team title.

Garth Watson continued his roll across northern PA (after his summer of actually doing that to raise money for his school track at Canton), winning the Northern Tier title in 16:06. Northeast Bradford pulled a mild upset, taking Wellsboro by 61 to 65 behind a 2nd place 16:33 by Ethan Laudermilch. They placed all five in the top 20. Wellsboro did as well, but it was the #1 runner for the home team that ultimately made the difference. Susan Learn of Mansfield captured the girls race in 19:19. Troy's Lauren Norton led her team to a comfortable 17-point win by taking 3rd in 19":36. The Troy pack was all in an counted for by 20th.

In the boys race Allderdice took the win with 25 points with 6 runners in the top-10. Jon Williams led Allderdice to victory with his winning time of 17:28.19. The girls team race went just as well for Allderdice, winning with 22 points and also placing 6 runners in the top-10. Schenley's Angelica Martinez won the meet with a time of 20:03.15.

Danville swept the team titels behind Taylor Barnhart's 17:089 win for the boys, and Caitlin Cavanaugh's 2nd place for the girls. The Lewisburg girls, missing one of their top three who is out with an injury, was 2nd by 13 points. Two varsity runners, both freshmen, went 1-2 in the JV race and would have scored in the varsity race. Casey Miller, at 18:32, and Kiah Hardcastle, 18:56, were 1st and 3rd for Lewisburg.
