Boys:
Central Bucks West successfully defended their John Sharp Invitational title last week on the opening day of the season in comfortable fashion. Rock Fortna led the way with his 2nd straight 3rd place finish and the team recorded a 55 second spread from 16:10 to 17:05. North Allegheny debuted in a dual meet sweet of Cathedral Prep with Marc Migliozzi running 16:30 and the rest of the top five running 13 seconds apart. State College also earned a victory at Big Valley with Alex Milligan leading the way. Downingtown East had a 51 second spread at Northampton to get their start on the right track. Downingtown West took the top two spots at the Oakbourne Relays as they prepare for Saturday's Cherokee Classic in New Jersey.

Individually, Jake Brophy was the lone sub 16 minute runner in AAA, as the CB East senior ran 15:48 to keep his John Sharp title. Jeff Kirshenbaum of Methacton ran the best time of his career (16:02) to finish 2nd to Brophy. Joe Pisacano of St Joe's Prep was the other winner in the top ten in AAA this week, taking the Lebanon Valley Invite title in 16:22. Eight of the top ten for the week came from seniors.

Downingtown East looked like a team on a mission on the opening weekend, dominating the Northampton Invitational with a 44 second spread from their top five for a comfortable win. They all broke 21 minutes in the process. Oakland Catholic impressed with front runner Lauren Finikiotis leading a solid top four under 20:20. State College ran five under 21:15 at Big Valley, while Palmyra and Coatesville were boosted by powerful front running performances.

Individually, District 11 champion Raisa Kochmaruk of Liberty ran 18:55 in a 2nd place effort at the Lions Invitational at Moravian Academy. The time was a career best. Brooke Hutton of Coatesville, Jamie Zamrin of Cocalico, Lauren Finikiotis of Oakland Catholic, and Lotte Black of Wissahickon ran top 10 times while recording victories. Half of the top ten is occupied by the sophomore class. Eleven runners broke 20 minutes last week.
