9/26 WKND: State champs win @ Foundation! Hoey PA#1 15:28! Dahl, McMenamin win out of state!

Saturday was the long awaited debut of the state's number 1 team Downingtown West boys. They debuted their full squad and gave everyone a glimpse of how good this team can be this season. They were led by the Puma Challenge winner and new state leader Jaxson Hoey thanks to his 15:28 performance. They also had his brother Josh run 15:40 for 4th and Henry Sappey ran 15:51 for 8th. Their entire varsity seven all broke 17 minutes and they were comfortable winners over Don Bosco Prep 52-114. West Chester Henderson finished 4th and Lower Dauphin was 5th. Other individuals included Nathan Henderson of JP McCaskey getting 6th in 15:41, Kyler Shea of Lower Dauphin was 9th, and Will Kachman of Bedford finished 10th.

In the Champions race, Sam Signor of East Pennsboro recorded his first career invitational victory with a time of 16:24 to win by 9 seconds over Austin Maxwell of Kennett. Signor's team followed his lead and finished 3rd in the team title chase with 200 points and PA's top spot for the race by one point over Palmyra.

In the girls Puma Challenge race, Mady Clahane of Cumberland Valley defeated Brooke Hutton of Coatesville and Abby Yourkavitch of Chambersburg for the 2nd time in 14 days. But her quest for a 3-peat was stopped by winner Aislinn Devlin of Downingtown West. Devlin took the gold medal for herself on Saturday was a PA#2 performance of 18:04 to win by 6 seconds. Clahane was 3rd in 18:13, Yourkavitch was 4th with the same time, and Hutton was 5th in 18:28. Clahane did leave with a smile on her face as her team came away with the team title with a 136-156 win over Manheim Township. Chambersburg was 3rd with 157 points.

In the Champions race, Kennett held off JP McCaskey 149-165 to finish 2nd in the meet and tops of the PA teams. Olivia Iswalt of Berks Catholic had PA's top finish, running 19:33 to finish 3rd.
