PTXC Performers of the Week: XC Week 4

In her season debut, Aislinn Devlin of Downingtown West knocked off the trio of Mady Clahane, Abby Yourkavitch, and Brooke Hutton to win the Carlisle Invitational in a PA#2 18:08 and end Clahane's run for a 3-peat. 18:04 was the 3rd fastest time of Devlin's career, her 2nd career invitational win, and put her on top of the state in the junior class!


Team

Over in New Jersey, North Penn made their annual trip to the Six Flags Safari Invitational and they were victorious in the Varsity A race with 42 points. They were led by a 1-2-3 finish by Ariana Gardizy, Phoebe Clowser, and Olivia Dyer. They finished 13 seconds apart and all three ran under 19:15. The team recorded their first win of the season and put themselves back in the District 1 state berth hunt!

You couldn't have asked for a better debut for Jaxson Hoey running his first cross country race for Downingtown West. The senior earned a 3 second win in a state leading time of 15:28, a personal best for him. It was his 5th consecutive sub 16 minute performance, his 3rd win in five races, and his 3rd personal best in his last 4.


Team

Jaxson's Downingtown West teammates demonstrated why they were one of the big favorites to the win the AAA championship this season. Jaxson, his brother Josh, and Henry Sappey all broke 16:00 and the varsity seven all broke 17 minutes in their victory at the Carlisle Puma Challenge race. They scored 52 points to win by 62!
