Quaker Valley girls were dominant in defending their league championship on Thursday afternoon. Led by Lucie Kubinski's individual title win, Quaker Valley placed five in the top 12, including the returning 1600 meter AA state champion Hannah Bablak to score 34 points and win by 96!
The Quaker Valley boys, however, were not so fortunate with their title defense. Despite having two runners in the top seven overall, that was unable to overcome the 31 second spread by Mars Area that led them to the upset victory over Quaker Valley 68-74. Domenic Peretta of Beaver Falls earned a 4 second victory over Quaker Valley's Zach Skolnekovich with a time of 16:20 for his 2 nd win of the season.
