Goldstein, Wilkinson set for another mile duel
Less than a second separated Friends' Central's Gabrielle Wilkinson and Germantown Academy's Abbe Goldstein at this past weekend's Millrose Games high school mile. After that close finish in the middle of the pack, it'll be even better to see that battle for a state title. Wilkinson and Goldstein will square off fresh in the mile on Sunday in what should be a thriller. Both runners have been quite familiar with that big race atmosphere this season, but the fight for states will be a lot different.
Cumberland Valley's Mady Clahane is also in the field. She has that senior savvy that you can never have enough of on the big stage. She's pulled off some strong races this season, most notably a 4:55.96 at the Millrose Trials.

We can't forget about Pennsbury's Olivia Sargent either. She hasn't had the indoor season she is used to, but Sargent can certainly never be counted out. Her teammate Mary Webb is also in the field.
The Unionville pair of Anna Juul and Kacie Breeding will be factors, both coming off strong cross country seasons. Both of their qualifying times came off XC strength before the new year, but they appeared in good fitness recently, bookending Unionville's winning DMR at the PTFCA Carnival. Emmaus' Katie Bacher is having a great season, running two solid mile races in New York, and Mount Lebanon's Kelsey Potts, too, should be a factor.
