Friday might bring some rain, but we could still see some
good performances at the home of the boys' cross country and indoor track and
field champs, Downingtown West.
On the boys' side, Bishop Shanahan will be one of the teams to watch. Sprinter Keegan Hughes will compete in both the 100 and 400 meters. Shanahan's Chris Kolimago will be the likely top seed in the boys' 1600m.
The 3200 may be the race to watch with Downingtown West's Henry Sappey making his outdoor debut against Owen J. Robert's Liam Conway. The race will also feature some of the pieces to the Whippets strong XC team.
West Chester Henderson will have a nice contingent in the 800, led by Spencer Smucker.
In the pole vault, we'll see current PA#1 Richard Iovanisci of West Chester Rustin.
There are some solid performers lined up for the girls too.
Oxford's Katie Dodson will be heavily favored in the 100m hurdles. Dodson started her season off nicely at the Rustin Invitational and will look to keep it going.
We'll get another look at double PA#1 Teneisha Myers of Owen J. Roberts. Myers also had a great start to her 2016 outdoor season at Rustin, dropping the top times in the state in both the 100 and 200 meters. She'll run both on Friday.
Bishop Shanahan's Emily Bracken comes in as the favorite in the girls' 1600, looking to capitalize off a nice indoor season.
