Central Valley's Maiah Yankello will have a busy day at Riverside (7) for the Beaver County Invite. She's entered in the 100 hurdles, 300 hurdles and 200 meter dash. Yankello already has had a great start to her season after running a current PA#5 in the 100 hurdles, so look for more of the same this weekend.
In the discus, Maura Kimmel of Moniteau will look for more after her performance at the Knoch Relays, where she posted a PR and PA#1 in the event, earning her performer of the week honors.
The sprints will be a big focus for the boys at Beaver County. Ambridge's Isaac Elliott will match up with Aliquippa's Antwan Brooks and Beaver Area's Darius Wise in the 100 and 200. All three will look to bust out big times that should have an effect on the state rankings.
Two weeks ago at Central Valley's invitational, Beaver Falls standout Domenic Perretta pulled off a nice triple in the 400, 800, and 160, claiming wins in all three. It looks like the Penn State-bound senior will attempt the same triple this weekend, as he is entered in all three once again. What does Perretta have in store for us this week?
The field should be exciting for the boys as well. Central Valley's Jacob White is the top seed in the discus, while Kyle Grimm of Beaver Area will look for a good start to his outdoor season. In the triple jump, New Brighton's Anthony Milliner will look to improve on his own PA#6 44-1.5.
