The best part about the big stage is that anything can happen. Think George Mason in the 2006 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. Or Billy Mills in the 10,000 meters at the 1964 Olympic Games. Or the Mighty Ducks beating the Hawks. The favorites are on the same starting line as the underdogs.
This state meet providing plenty of drama this season. We saw a number of state meet records and even a state record, but some of the lasting moments came from those many may not have predicted to come out on top at the start of the weekend.
