1/31-Parlapiano, Fennelly, Nash, Breisch, Carroll, Butler run well in Boston and NY 1/31 weekend

Lou Hulst reports on some college action this past weekend that included PA high school standouts Tom Parlapiano, Ryan Fennelly, Pat Nash, Adam Breisch, and Tim Carroll.

Ryan Fennelly of La Salle (St. Puis) ran a NCAA provisional qualifying time of 8:05.45 in the 3k in Boston at the Terrier Invitational at Boston University this past weekend. Also this weekend, his former HS teammate Tom Parlapiano, a senior at Villanova University, competed at the Boston Indoor Games, anchoring the team\'s DMR to an NCAA auto time of 9:34. His split for 1600 was an impressive 3:58.

At the Armory in a meet hosted by Columbia and Princeton, Adam Breisch (Quakertown) ran 4:12.82 in the mile for 6th. Tim Carroll (Springfield, Montco) ran 4:12.26 for 5th, and Pat Nash (O\'Hara) got 4th with a 4:11.44. All IC4A qualifying times. Earlier this season, Nash ran 2:24.32 for 1000m, which is 2nd in the country. In the 3k at the Armory meet, John Butler, Cedar Cliff, took 2nd with a time of 8:30.63.
