Montrose (Class A Boys)

Like the Northern Potter girls, Montrose didn't send a team to states last season. Instead, competing as a AA team, Montrose just sent Zach Mead, who took 87th in the state.
But the PIAA shifted Montrose from AA to A before the start of this season, which was a welcome change for an already talented crew that returned all seven runners from its 2015 team. The Class A newcomers cleaned up at last week's District 2 Championships in Lakeland. Mead took the overall win and junior Brandon Curley and senior Owen Brewer was third, all under 17 minutes.
Class A fans might not know much about Montrose, but after Saturday, they should be pretty familiar with the boys in maroon.
