Fifth, fourth, eighth, sixth.

Those were the finishing places for the Honesdale girls at the District 2 Championships from 2012-2015. But we forgot the most recent result: first.

Honesdale dominated the AA field at the District 2 Championship at Lakeland last Wednesday, scoring just 43 points to win and earn one of the two state qualifying spots for D2-AA. Regretfully, I didn't even mention them in my District 2 preview. But I won't overlook the Honesdale girls this time around--a young squad that will face the big lights of Hershey on Saturday.

Sophomore Mackenizie LaMorte took second at districts and a pair of freshmen--Tedra Harrison and Dana Pratt--took fourth and eighth respectively at the D2 meet.  While the usual powers of AA--Villa Maria, Danville, and Central Cambria--will attract a lot of attention leading up to the state meet, Honesdale will be a team to watch for.
