The path to a four-peat won't be easy for Villa Maria. But they dealt with adversary this past year and overcame it to win their third straight title, so they can't be counted out in 2017. Meanwhile, AA runners-up Quaker Valley return five of seven, but will need to add some depth for next year. Danville Area brings back its entire top six from its third place state team. Northern York, Villa Joseph Marie, Scranton Prep, Honesdale, and Allentown Central Catholic should also be strong headed into next fall.

There are plenty of strong returners as far as the individuals are concerned. AA state champion Taryn Parks of Greencastle-Antrim will return after winning as just a freshman. Another sophomore-to be, Marlee Starliper of Northern, will be a factor after nearly upsetting Parks for the AA state title. Eastern York's Maddie McLain and Oley Valley's Rebecca Snyder make up the rest of the powerful District 3 frontrunners. Allentown Central Catholic's Emily Deschler, Villa Maria's Grace Brown, and Danville's Elaina Klinger and Marisa Maffei will also be ones to watch.

Way Too Early Prediction: A senior, Maddie McLain of Eastern York, steals the state title in another close battle with Parks, Starliper and Snyder. Danville Area, with a deep squad, takes the team win.
