9. Nicole Scherer cleans up the sprints at TSTCA
At the first TSTCA of the season at Edinboro University this weekend, the sprints belonged to one girl: Nicole Scherer of Burrell.
Scherer, a senior, has been one of western PA's top sprinters for many years now. She showed that experience on Saturday, winning both the 60 meter dash and 200 meter dash in dominating fashion. Scherer clocked a time of 7.82, a PA#2, in the 60 meter finals. She followed that up with a 25.41, PA#6 (though, Scherer currently has the fastest "flat track" time in the state, even if Edinboro is technically an "oversized track").
It's a great start to what should be an exciting senior season for the Pitt recruit.
