Boys' 55-Meter Dash - Saturday, 1:08 P.M.
This one's going to be fast.
The race is headlined by US#1 and Penn State recruit, William Henderson from Maryland. He ran 6.31 for the national lead and the win at the Hispanic Games last month. New York's Eric Harrison and Maryland's Eric Allen Jr. are a few of the other big names in this field.
The two Pennsylania entries are Imhotep's Ade Jones-Roundtree, the reigning 60-meter state champ and current PA#1 in the 55 meters. He's run 6.36 in the event this season, which puts him at a five-way tie for the PA#3 spot. Jones-Roundtree ran that time at the Hispanic Games and he'll look to improve upon that. That time is also faster than he ran at Millrose last year, where he took second place, so the senior is ready to move up.
Dock Mennonite's Austin Kratz is also in the field. The junior has a PR of 6.50 in the 55 meters and 6.98 in the 60 meters. While he's a darkhorse in this field, he's a consistently strong performer and one to keep an eye on.
