In a terrific women's 10,000 meters on Thursday night at the NCAA Division I Championships in Eugene, Oregon, a few former Pennsylvania high schoolers shined.
San Francisco's Charlotte Taylor won the race, with a great last lap kick to defeat New Mexico's Alice Wright. But behind that, there was some great action for those coveted All-American spots.
William & Mary's Regan Rome, a 2014 Dallas graduate, placed sixth in 33:06.03 to grab First-Team All-American honors. That's also a huge PR for Rome of of 30 seconds for the 10K. Penn State's Jillian Hunsberger, who graduated from Mount Lebanon in 2014 took tenth place in 33:29.40 for Second-Team All-American status. Also earning second-team honors was Auburn's Veronica Eder, who was a 2013 Central Bucks East grad.
