Boys Summary:
Brady Gehret, Altoona, was the boys athlete of the meet with a stellar 200 meter dash win in a time of 21.76. He also anchored the winning 4x200 and 4x400 meter relays. Tom Mallon, Central Bucks South, also put on a show in the 800, winning with a meet record time of 1:51.79. The mark is also a current US #1 time. More impressively, the time is US #11 All-Time and a #2 time for Juniors. Mike Granville owns the Junior class and HS record with his time of 1:50.55, set back in 1995. Chris Morrales, Abington, and Aaron Nadolsky, Altoona, were separated by a wire thin margin in the 400 with Morrales winning 48.56 (US#4) to 48.58(US#5). Robert Micikas, Crestwood, showed up big in the 3000, winning with a US #3 time of 8:35.58. Lower Merion's Ben Furcht was 2nd in 8:36.17. Central Bucks South ran a US #2 mark in the 4x800 with a winning time of 7:49.01, just narrowly missing North Penn's meet record of 7:48.99. Altoona won the team title, riding a pair of impressive relay wins. In the 4x200 Altoona beat William Penn Charter to the line with a time of 1:29.27 and in the 4x400 Altoona outlasted a Conestoga squad with a time of 3:20.34.
Upper Dublin continued to dominate the DMR with a winning time of 10:19.83. In the shot put Wesley Lavong and Rodney Richter dueled for the win with both athletes breaking the 60' mark for the first time. Lavong won with a throw of 62-02.00 and Richter was 2nd with a throw of 60-01.50. Kyriq Williams, Phoenixville, and Sean Gentry, North Penn, duked it out in the high jump with both athletes clearing 6-08 with Williams winning on misses. Gentry outlasted Carlton Lavong in the long jump with a leap of 23-02.25. Jason Johnson, O'Hara, won the triple jump with a leap of 46-04.50. Nathaniel Hensh, Laurel Highlands, won the pole vault with a mark of 14-06. Spencer Wallace, Malvern Prep, won the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.08. Ivo Milic-Strkalj, Friends' Central, won the mile with a time of 4:21.19. Romarr Mayne, Reading, won the 60 dash with a time of 6.87.
Girls Summary:
Rayianna Johnson, Chester, set a meet record in winning the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.45, a tie for US #1, and barely missed another in the 200 dash with a time of 24.04, a US #2 mark. She did all of this with the flu, and was honored as the girls athlete of the meet. Chloe Schmidt set a US #3 time in winning the 800 meter run with a time of 2:11.99, after having won the mile run in a time of 5:01.89. Abington won both short relays by the narrowest of margins, winning the 4x200 in a time of 1:41.59 o Swenson's 1:41.93, and the 4x400 in a time of 3:53.33 to Penn Woods 3:53.87. Abby Hewitt, Latrobe, won the 3000 meter run with a 19 second PR of 10:09.08. Alysha Cook, Harrisburg, won the 60 hurdles with a time of 8.89. Brittney Wallace, Penn Wood, won the 400 dash with a time of 56.02. Conestoga won a narrow victory in the 4x800 with a time of 9:24.90 to beat North Penn, 9:25.14, and Downingtown East, 9:25.78. Coatesville came from behind in the DMR to win by 6 seconds with a time of 12:22.73. Tory Worthen, Council Rock South, won the pole vault with a mark of 12-06. Ashley Adams, Freedom, won the shot with a put of 46-06. Brittney Howell, Cheltenham, won the long jump with a mark of 18-04.75. Taylor Morgan, Upper Dublin, won the high jump with a height of 5-06. Kelly Monteleone, Penn Hills, won the triple jump with a leap of 37-09.75.
