PIAA District 5 Championships - Girls' Preview

We haven't seen many of the District 5 teams in action at invitationals this season, so it looks like a fairly open race for the lone state qualifying spot and the five individual spots.
Rockwood's Graycen Breckenridge is the defending champion. She went 22:05 to win last year, but we haven't seen her in invite results yet this season. The same goes for Brooke Cornell of Berlin Brothersvalley, who was second to Breckenridge last season. Elise Hutzell of Meyersdale was third last season.
Lorna Speigle of Johnstown Christian was fifth last year and competed at SFU this season. Northern Bedford's Denae Hershberger ran well in West Virginia this season and may be the one to beat on Wednesday.
In the team race, Southern Fulton are the defending champs, but look for Johnstown Christian and Windber Area to give them a good run for a trip to Hershey.
