The District 1 teams that make the annual visit to Virginia for warmth and competition, found a meet to replace the temporarily suspended Colonial Relays when they visited Hampton, Virginia. The boys took the DMR by storm, keeping the first five places to themselves behind the 10:43.08 by Upper Dublin. Bonner was just two seconds back, and LaSalle, Great Valley and Archbishop Ryan rounded out the top five. Upper Dublin also took the 4x400 (3:27.16), but LaSalle struck gold in the 4x800 in 8:04.82; less than two seconds better than Upper Dublin; and silver in the Sprint Medley, going 3:41.09. State College senior Mick Rehring won the Shot Put with a heave of 53-06.25 and the Discus with his throw of 152-08. Teammate Wes Scala was 1st in the High Jump, clearing 6-03. In girls action, Janessa Murphy, the Great Valley junior, won the 100 in 12.21. Ryan\'s Sara Brown was 3rd in 12.48, and also was 2nd in the 200, going 25.63.
