Pennsylvania's Best Goes South: A Look At The PA Athletes Competing At The Va Showcase

Thelma Davies (Girard College)

Davies returns to the track for the first time since her terrific performance at the Hispanic Games at The Armory in New York. It was there that Davies dropped a US#1 in the 55 meters (6.83) and a US#3 in the 200 meters (23.89). Both times prove Davies is well ahead of schedule this season.

It'll just be the 55 meters for Davies this weekend. She enters as the top seed, but she'll have to deal with a few other sub-7 second girls in Kimone Shaw of St. Jago (Jamaica) and Shadajah Ballard of Western Branch (VA). Davies could be pushed to go after her own US#1 time and possibly her PR, which sits a tick better than her season best at 6.82.
