Austin Kratz crept awfully close to the Pennsylvania state record on Saturday. The Dock Mennonite senior ran 21.23 to run away with the 200 meter win at the Ocean Breeze High School Invitational in Staten Island, New York.
That time is just .01 off Brady Gehret's state record in the 200 meters. Gehret of Altoona Area, ran 21.22 in 2010. That time by Kratz is not surprisingly the second fastest time in Pennsylvania state history. It moves Kratz up to US#2 in the current nationals rankings.
