DVGTCA Meet #7 - Meet Recap

Neumann Goretti got the meet started off in a big way on Friday night at Lehigh. The Saints went after a quick 4x800-meter relay and came away with the second best time in the state by the time the weekend is done. The versatile squad went 9:29.00 for the runaway win. Penn Charter looked strong as well, taking second in a PA#4 time of 9:37.70.

Saint Basil's freshman Tia Taylor continued her impressive season, winning the hurdles against a talented field. Taylor clocked a PA#4 time of 8.95. Exeter's Symone Foster took second in a 8.97 for a new PA#4.

In the 60 meter dash, Grace Lanouette of Conestoga blasted a time of 7.60 for the win. She continues a terrific progression this season and improves on her own PA#2. Norristown's Jonae Cook ran a PA#3 of 7.71 for second, and Pennridge's Kouri Peace made her season debut in the 60, running 7.92 for third. Arianna Eberly of Coatesville ran a strong race in the 200 meters to win in a quick flat track time of 25.52.

In one of the closest races of the day, Cardinal O'Hara's Christine Mancini went 1:37.40 in the 600 meters to edge out Coateville's Sammie Miller (1:37.49) in a sprint to the line. In the 800 meters, Neumann Goretti's Dasia Wilson came back from the 4x8 to win the open event in 2:19.62 (PA#11). North Penn's Ariana Gardizy ran a solo effort in the 3,000 meters, winning in 10:14.84, just off her own PA#3.

Perkiomen Valley's Christina Warren moved to PA#4 in the long jump with a leap of 18-7. Natalie Kwortnik of North Penn took second with a PA#6 jump of 18-3.5. Cheltenham's Brianna Smith won the high jump with a clearance of 5-3.
