Individuals Breakdown: District 3 Girls

D3-AAA Girls - Individuals Breakdown

While some top talent has graduated from District 3 Class AAA, some other girls are ready to step into the spotlight.

Dallastown's Emily Schuler looks to be the one to beat in D3 and possibly all of AAA this season. The rising junior was second at districts and then fifth at states, the highest-placed non-senior in that field. Schuler has shown some good progression since coming on strong as a freshman, and this may be her year to really shine.

The no. 2 returner in AAA statewide based on states finish is Elizabethtown's Katie Locker. Also a rising junior, Locker was 29th at districts, but then really broke through at states, placing ninth. Locker was seventh in the 1,600 this past spring, and will be in line for a big fall in XC.

Governor Mifflin's Andrea Miller was fourth at districts and then 17th at the state meet. Miller will look to take the top spot in D3-AAA this fall. Carlisle's Meg Lebo was 13th at districts, but then earned a state medal, taking 23rd at Hershey. She'll be one to watch again this fall.

Makenna Krebs of Central Dauphin East, Cat Shontz of Elizabethtown, and Margaret Carroll of Northeastern are back from the top ten in the district from last year. Among the others to watch this season are Ephrata's Mary Campbell and Alyssa Fedorshak, Elizabethtown's Madeline Quinn, Manheim Township's Ava Pasewicz and Anabelle Lapp, and Hershey's Faith Mark.

Expect a close race for the top spot in what should be a big year for the AAA girls from District 3.
