Isabel Sagar Drops A 17:56 To Win At District 4

Isabel Sagar dominated the Class A field at Thursday's PIAA District 4 Championships.

The Loyalsock senior and recent Harvard recruit dropped a course record of 17:56 on Bloomsburg University's course. Sagar took the lead from the beginning and never looked back, winning by an incredible 2 minutes, 43 seconds.

Sagar is the heavy favorite in Class A at next week's PIAA State Championships in Hershey.

In the other girls' race, Warrior Run's Lauren Trapani won the AA race in 19:03. The Danville Area girls got some revenge against Warrior Run in the team race, though, after Warrior Run beat the Ironmen at the NEPA Invitational last month. Danville scored 30 points to WR's 52. Both teams qualified for states.
